Moderate cover wear & soiling, front & rear blank endpapers browned, binding inact with no missing pages. This book is at least partially autobiographical. This title is very hard-to-find! Alice Herbert (a.k.a. Alice Baker) was married to Walter Loewe (Low), a friend of H.G. Wells, until his death. Alice later married Lt. Col. James Alexander Herbert. Alice's daughter with Walter Low, Ivy Low Litvinov, was also a writer and was married to Soviet diplomat Maxim Litvinov.
